I found the training informative and it challenged my own thinking around the term ‘carer’ and what can be encompassed within the role. It also highlighted that those being ‘cared for’ and those ‘providing the care’ share commonalities in their experiences around how they are perceived within society. It was delivered in a thought provoking but sensitive manner with participatory discussion and group tasks. It also provided factual information on legislation and practices which are relevant to those in a to those in a caring role. The training has been invaluable to me as a student social worker.
